Welcome to Spillard Karate - The School of True Spirit
For Fun, Discipline, Fitness, Self Defence & the building of Self Confidence
Solid, traditional, family friendly learning of an excellent martial art. Excellent for creating a common family bond for future achievement.Sempai Bernard (2nd Dan)
I have been training with Sensei Alan and the Spillard family for close to 20 years and it is the positive, friendly atmosphere and high level of teaching that has kept me engaged for so long. The fantastic clubs run by the Spillard family provide you with the opportunity to develop your practical and theoretical knowledge of Karate, as well developing your fitness levels along the way. Sensei Alan is an excellent instructor and I would encourage anyone with an interest in martial arts to come along and train with the Spillard family.Andy
I was looking for an activity for my son and I to share when someone suggested Spillard Karate in Hammersmith. Classes for both adults and children together are rare to find. These are immensely enjoyable, children have fun, get exercise and make new friends and so do the adults! Great instructors, classes to mirror school terms and courses at half term and holidays.
4 years later we both have a black belt and youngest son is addicted too.Steff

Spillard Karate is a truly welcoming school for all levels and ages. Children benefit from the discipline, the self respect and confidence that comes from learning karate, particularly under the teaching of Sensei Alan, Sensei Sue and Sensei Ben Spillard, who make it fun too so they want to come back for more! Joining as an adult, I found fantastic benefits not only from improved strength, flexibility and fitness, but also a sense of achievement working through the gradings to reach black belt. Thoroughly recommend.Camilla
I’ve been training with Sensei Alan Spillard for 7 years at Bracknell with 3 of my kids. It’s great fun as well as good fitness, flexibility and self defense.
He gets a good balance of content to keep the young ones interested and they develop in small steps with belts, medals and school holiday courses giving lots of rewards and goals to strive for.Russell Horton
Seiki-juku Karate is an excellent traditional martial arts club, staying close to the original values of Karate. It is a supportive environment for all ages and in particular children who thrive under excellent, high quality instruction from Sensei Alan and other senior black belts. All 3 of my children and I have trained at Hammersmith for the last 5 years and found it to be a demanding but rewarding experience.Jat Sahota (1st Dan)
